Can Any Paranormal Photograph Be Real?

by Frank Tomko, January 2008

I have been pondering this thought for a very long time, even though I am fairly new to the world of the paranormal. Is it likely, let alone possible, that any of the photographs we have seen in this trade are real? I am not so sure anymore, and even if this makes me the biggest black sheep in our world, then so be it.

This idea occurred to me after making a few fake paranormal photographs using computer programs. I have to continually ask myself if the evidence we see in any of these shows on television, as well as from people who claim to have captured something out of the norm on film is real or is it all one elaborate hoax that no one has caught on to yet. I look at all of these so-called "true haunting" photos and things of the sort, and say "I am beginning to doubt this".

Although I am a "newbie" to the world of the paranormal, I must now raise a red flag to every picture I see. Whether it is from a famous group that we all know and follow, or whether it is from someone showing me their own collection, I find myself continually doubting the true existence of evidence that cannot be fully debunked.

In today’s world of vast technology that is ever changing, it makes it nearly impossible to not question even the most unquestionable piece of evidence. I think that anything can be debunked, especially with technology such as Adobe Photoshop within our reaches.
